#18 Get a PhD
I'd like to work at my education enough to get a Dr. in front of my name... for the challenge of it, the accomplishment of it, more than anything...

#17 - Watch a space shuttle launch
I've always thought that would be so awesome! I was just looking at some pictures of the latest launch. To witness something from this planet going out into space, into the great openness.
***Update, December 2011 - Ok, I realize they have retired the space shuttle program, so it will have to be some other space craft launching off of this planet.

#16 - Write a Book
I am in the "thinking about it stage" of writing a book about myself and a journey I've been taking. It will be about my story and the healing journey I've been taking. We will see if I can get this done before I die... Life tends to happen sometimes!
Then I have other book ideas floating around in my head. I think would call this one a success if any of them got done!

#15 - Be in Times Square on New Year's Eve
I'd just like to experience that once, the magnitude of it all I think would be mind-blowing. To really see all those people in one place and to be a part of something that is an American icon would be great. I'd like to be able to say "I was there" or "I did that once" when I die.

#14 - Learn How to Be Happy
I mean really be happy. I let the way other people behave dictate how I feel about myself and the world in general. I want to learn how not to do that.

#13 Attend an NFL Football game
I don't really care which team, but I want really good seats on the 50 yard line. I just like football.

#12 Learn how to manipulate the space-time continuum
Ok, so this one probably won't happen, at least in my lifetime, but I can dream right? I have way to many interests, hobbies, tangents, skills, etc. I am literally a jack of all trades, master of none. I know how to do a lot of things, but not necessarily well. I like to learn new things all the time and then run out of time or ways or energy or patience to finish them. If I could just stop time, bend it, make it last longer maybe I could finish something once in a while, or at least learn it a little better. Also, if I could travel through space, I could visit my friends and family that live so far away at a moment's notice. (Milwaukee, here I come!) Also, traveling back in time to visit my ancestors and see exactly what happened instead of all of this guessing all the time!
#11 Become a Certified Genealogist
I've been "doing" genealogy for almost 10 years now... my how time flies. I've been speaking for much of that time and have really enjoyed the research, writing and speaking aspect of genealogy. I feel that my skills are up to the level where working at becoming certified genealogist would really hone my skills and bring them up to a higher level. Now, if only I had more time, or maybe its if I were managed my time better....

#10 step foot an all 7 continents
I almost said "at least six of the seven" but I figured I ought to just go for it. Antarctica will be a challenge but I'll see what I can do. Travel is something I deeply love so this is an important goal for me to have. Let's see, I've got north America under my belt...

Update on #4 - Done
So, on January 3, 2009 I got a tattoo for my 35th birthday. I figured I wasn't getting any younger and might as well do it before I chickened out. I love it. It's on my back so I don't see it all the time, which is nice. It's a surprise when I see it in the mirror.

#8 - Own a Jeep again
My mom had a jeep when I was in high school. It's what I learned to drive on. I loved it. I'd get a friend or two and we'd take off up this dirt road in the mountains behind my house and be gone for hours. It was awesome. I would like to have that capability again. My subie just can't climb over rocks like that! So I'd like to own a jeep again, not a new fancy one but one that's already beat up and I won't feel bad about banging it up a bit.
#7 Go Kayaking
I'd really love to learn how to kayak. Not the really heavy-duty-white-water, "Oh My God I just might drown now" kind of kayaking, but kayaking none the less. I love being in nature, I love canoeing, I love water, so this seems like a good thing to try.

#6 - Be an Election Judge
I don't exactly know why I'd like to do this. My grandma has been a volunteer at the polls for as long as I can remember. I suppose it is to carry on a tradition or to feel like I'm doing something for my country. At any rate, that's on my list...

5 - Hot tubbing in the snow
Ok, someday I'd like to sit in a hut tub in the mountains when snow is falling. I'd rather own the house and the hut tub, but for now, I'll settle for just renting one some weekend.
That just seems like one of the most relaxing, peaceful things I could do.

4-Get a Tattoo
I even have it sort of picked out. I'd like to get an ouroboros on my left shoulder on the back. I don't have the exact design figured out yet, but that's the one. Someday....

3-Travel to NYC
I'd really like to go to NYC and visit, do the whole tourist thing. There are tons of things there that I'd like to see like the many art museums for one thing. Also, the history and architecture, the food, shopping, TV studios, plays, taxis, subways and all of the things you experience in the big city.

2-learn to play the guitar
I love music. I love singing. I don't know that I'm very good at it, but I love to do it. And I would love to someday take guitar lessons.
I don't know how hard it is to play the guitar. I guess my biggest hangup is that I don't know how to read music. I have a very basic understanding of music from elementary school. I fear that I won't be able to do it. Reading music seems like a daunting task.
Regardless, playing guitar is on my list of things to do.
